Gabrielle van Zuylen 出生法国，曾在美国求学。与Anita Péreire合著《法国的私人花园》（Arthaud，1984），由R.佩奇撰写前言，并荣获法兰西学院奖勉。她的第二本著作《R.佩奇的庭园》（Flammarion，1992），在1991年荣获美国庭园作家协会颁予“最佳庭园书籍”奖项。她同时也是国际树木研究协会及庭园爱好者组织成员，曾荣获国家农业功绩骑士勋章。她自己也是个经验十足的园丁。
